Haryana teachers eligibility test
The Haryana teacher eligibility test (HTET) which is going to be held by the Board of School Education for schools under the Haryana government is scheduled to be held on the 2nd and 3rd of January 2024. The official notification has been released and the application process will start from November 16th.

The exam is to be held for three type of teachers. First, Primary teachers, for whom the minimum qualifications needed are 12th pass and Diploma in elementary education. Second, for Trained graduate teachers who need to have a Bachelor’s degree along with B.Ed. and the third one are, Post graduate teachers who need to have a Master’s degree along with B.Ed. The primary teachers will teach students from Class I to V, the trained graduate teachers will teach students from class VI to VIII and the Post graduate teachers will teach class IX to XII.
On qualifying the paper, the successful candidates will get a certificate that will be valid for seven years(which was earlier 5), which means that they can then apply for any vacancies released by the Board of School Education in schools run by the Haryana government.

There is no negative marking or sectional cut-offs in the exam. The total number of questions is 150 and the total number of marks is also 150.
The students from SC/ST/PH need to score minimum 55% i.e. 82 marks or more than that to clear the exam, while the other students need to score 60% i.e. 90 marks or more than that to clear the paper.
The exam is held in two phases:
Written test and Personal interview
The weightage for each section is as follows:
Written test- 80% weightage
Personal interview- 12% weightage
Experience in teaching- 8% weightage
The different Levels of HTET exam have different syllabus:
LEVEL 1
Child development and pedagogy(related to students of age group 6-11 year)
Languages( Hindi and English)
Quantitative aptitude, reasoning and general awareness
Mathematics and Environmental studies(topics related to Class I-V)
LEVEL 2
Child development and pedagogy( according to students of age group 11-16 years)
Languages( Hindi and English)
Quantitative aptitude, reasoning and general awareness
Subject opted by candidate(social studies, science, maths, any other)(topics related to class VI-X)
LEVEL 3
Child development and pedagogy( according to students of age group 14-17 years)
Languages(Hindi and English)
Quantitative aptitude, reasoning and general awareness
Subjects opted ( mathematics/social studies/science/any other)(topics related to class IX TO XII)
