Indian Air Force to start AFCAT 2024: Online applications are invited for the courses commencing in July 2024 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Online applications are also invited for grant of PC/ SSC for NCC Special Entry Scheme (For flying branch) and for Meteorology Entry

Education Qualification:
Flying Branch: Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level and
(a) Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of60% marks or equivalent.
OR
(b) BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent
OR
(c) Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Age Limit:
- Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as on 01 July 2024 i.e. born between 02 July 1997 to 01 July 2001(both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 year i.e. born between 02 July 1995 to 01 July 2001 (both dates inclusive).
- Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical) Branches: 20 to 26 years as on 01 July 2024 i.e. born between 02 July 1995 to 01 July 2001 (both dates Inclusive)
Selection Process for AFCAT:
AFCAT 2024 is conducted in two stages – a computer based test and SSB interview. Those who qualify these stages are called for medical tests.

Candidates are advised to visit the website of IAF at http://afcat.cdac.in/ and click on the link for AFCAT application form.
Application fee: Rs 250 (Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- non-refundable as examination fee).
There is no fee for candidates registering for NCC Special entry and Meteorology Entry.
Last Date for Submission of Online Application – 14 July 2024
AFCAT 02/2020 is slated to be held on 19 and 20 September in online mode.
